Welcome to Elgin School District

About Elgin, Oregon

Elgin is nestled at the foot of the Blue Mountains on the northern edge of the Grande Ronde Valley. It is within 20 minutes north of driving time of La Grande, the site of Eastern Oregon University. Both La Grande and Eastern provide outstanding cultural and education opportunities for Elgin residents.

Approximately 2,000 citizens reside in the growing Elgin community. Many community members actively participate in school programs and provide continued support for school activities.

Elgin citizens, including school staff, work together to build a supportive community. Activities include:

Tuesday, December 11th at 7 PM for 7th - 12th Grade Students

Annual Special Education Report Card

The Oregon Department of Education has released the 2017-18 Special Education Report Card for school districts statewide. This and all other annual report cards can be viewed under "School Report Cards" linked from our "Information Center" page.

Annual Notice for Statewide Assessments

Oregon House Bill 2655 permits parents to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests in English Language Arts and Math by submitting the “opt-out” form to the school the student attends. The school shall provide any student who is exempted from a state test with supervised study time while other students are testing.  The opt out form may be found using the link below or in the office of your child’s school.
